Intended use

In a 3-part hand tap set, the pre-cutter, centre cutter and finish cutter each cover almost the entire length of the cutting edge. This type of tap is preferably used to produce threads in blind holes. In single-cut taps, the pre-cutter, centre cutter and finish cutter are arranged one behind the other on the cutting edge. This makes these taps particularly suitable for cutting through-hole threads.
