Intended use

A height support, also known as a milling support, is used on lathes. It is mounted on the cross slide in place of the top slide. With the help of a height support, it is possible to carry out smaller milling jobs on a lathe. The milling cutter is mounted in the lathe chuck or collet chuck and the workpiece to be machined is clamped in the milling support.

Description of the

This solid steel height support is designed for use on smaller lathes. The milling support can be attached to the cross slide via the mounting holes on the base using two hexagon socket screws. The height of the carriage of the height support can be adjusted by up to 70 mm using a handwheel. The travel distance can be read off or set using the vernier. The workpiece holder can be adjusted up to a holder width of 70 mm. A suitable vice for the height support can be attached via T-slots on the slide. The dovetail guide of the height support can be adjusted backlash-free via a pressure bar.
