Intended use
Indexable inserts are used in machining and are mounted on the turning tools / boring tools or milling cutters intended for this purpose. Depending on the intended use or the material to be machined, inserts are available in various shapes and with special coatings. For example, there are special inserts for machining aluminium or non-ferrous metals. The inserts are standardised and can be identified by the respective standard designation. If a cutting insert is worn, it is simply replaced with a new insert.

The advantages and properties of this polished insert:The positive geometry in combination with the sharply ground cutting edges enables excellent cutting of aluminium and non-ferrous metals such as brass, copper, bronze etc.. These geometric properties enable particularly good surface results to be achieved. The geometry of the cutting edge reduces the formation of a so-called built-up edge when machining aluminium. Very good results can also be achieved when machining both cast iron and plastics. Softer steel grades can also be machined with this indexable insert.
