Description of the
This self-centring four-jaw chuck enables quick and even clamping of turning workpieces of varying sizes. Thanks to the linked jaw mechanism, all four clamping jaws move simultaneously towards or away from the centre. This makes it easier to centre the workpiece and ensures an even clamping force. The profiled clamping jaws can hold workpieces from both the outside and the inside. For external clamping, for example, a tenon machined onto the workpiece is clamped between the jaws. For internal clamping, the jaws are spread apart within a suitably prepared recess or cavity. This makes the chuck versatile for use with bowls, tins, plates and similar woodturning projects. It is operated using the two clamping levers supplied. These are inserted into the side holes of the chuck and moved against each other. This allows the workpiece to be clamped securely or released in a controlled manner. The chuck has a total diameter of 100 mm and is screwed directly onto the lathe spindle via the M33 × 3.5 internal thread. With the clamping jaws fitted, its depth is 80 mm; without them, it is 50 mm. The scope of delivery also includes a screw insert for directly holding suitable wooden blanks. The clamping jaws are individually marked so that they can be refitted in the correct order after removal. The supplied Allen keys enable the jaws to be changed, as well as other adjustment and assembly tasks.
