Intended use
A roughing gouge is used in woodturning for rough material removal and round turning of square blanks. It is designed for the first machining phase and enables fast, controlled roughing on a cylindrical base body. Thanks to its wide and comparatively shallow groove, it works quietly and reliably with larger chip removal. It is used exclusively for spindle work and is not suitable for turning bowls or crosspieces.
