Intended use

Indexable inserts are used in machining and are mounted on the turning tools or milling cutters intended for this purpose. Depending on the intended use or the material to be machined, inserts are available in various shapes and with special coatings. For example, there are special inserts for machining aluminium or non-ferrous metals. The inserts are standardised and can be identified by the respective standard designation. If a cutting insert is worn, it is simply replaced with a new insert.

In addition, this insert is titanium nitride-coated, which contributes to greater heat resistance and tool life. TiN-coated inserts are intended for universal use. This means that soft materials can be machined in the same way as hard materials.

The highly positive geometry in combination with the sharply ground cutting edges and the sintered chip breakers enable excellent machining of aluminium and non-ferrous metals such as brass, copper, bronze, etc.
