Description of the
This position measuring system retrofit kit with LCD touchscreen is designed for the travel ranges of the PM5000 lathe or similarly sized machines and is intended for retrofitting by the user. The set consists of the SDS 200S position display, the holder for the position display, a glass scale with 120 mm measuring range, a glass scale with 220 mm measuring range, and a glass scale with 1,000 mm measuring range.
The position measuring system is distinguished by very extensive functions and display options. Selected functions are represented graphically on the display for better understanding. The position display offers the option to choose between turning, milling, or grinding mode. The languages German, English, Spanish, French, and Chinese are available. The following functions are available in turning mode:
- Cone turning
- Tool correction
- The travel path in the X-axis can be displayed either in diameter or in radius.
- It is possible to display Z and Z0 combined, i.e. the travel path of the bed slide and the travel path of the top slide are shown in total.
The following functions are available in milling mode:
- Inclined contour / surface: Milling of chamfers or diagonal surfaces
- Setting any number of holes at even spacing on a straight line (SHL function)
- Milling a radius or circular arc
- Displaying a hole circle for evenly set holes on an arc
- Determining the centre point between two points
In all operating modes, the values can be displayed in mm or inches. It is possible to change the sign for the display of the individual axes. A standby mode can be activated on the position display. The display brightness, date, time, and acoustic signals can be set. A calculator function with memory is also available.
