Auger bit Ø 32 mm, length 200 mm, shape Lewis

This Ø 32 mm snake drill bit, 200 mm in length, is designed for drilling in wood and is suitable for beams, square-edged timber, solid wood, laminated timber and wood-based materials. The 200 mm version offers a manageable overall length for use in workshops, assembly, interior fitting and timber construction, where clean holes, good guidance and reliable chip removal are required. The drill bit is made from hardened carbon tool steel. This material provides a robust foundation for wood drilling tools and ensures stable cutting geometry during regular use. The hardening process increases the wear resistance of the cutting edges and contributes to reliable drilling performance in typical wood-based materials. The centring tip enables precise positioning on the workpiece. The feed thread at the tip draws the drill bit into the wood in a controlled manner and reduces the required downward pressure. This promotes a smooth drilling process. To ensure clean hole edges, the snake drill bit is fitted with a pre-cutter. This pre-cuts the wood fibres at the edge of the hole and helps to reduce tear-outs. At the same time, the Lewis spiral ensures excellent chip evacuation and reliably transports the chips out of the drill hole. The taper toward the shank, ranging from 1:50 to 1:100, is designed to prevent the drill bit from jamming in the hole and to ensure smooth cutting action through the material.
