Intended use
Indexable inserts are used in machining and are mounted on the turning tools or milling cutters intended for this purpose. Depending on the intended use or the material to be machined, inserts are available in various shapes and with special coatings. For example, there are special inserts for machining aluminium or non-ferrous metals. The inserts are standardised and can be identified by the respective standard designation. If a cutting insert is worn, it is simply replaced with a new insert.

For machining aluminium, non-ferrous metals, cast iron
For the extended range of applications with wood, plastic, refractory, steel and stainless materials
Description of the
The advantages and properties of this polished insert:
The highly positive geometry in combination with the sharply ground cutting edges and the sintered chip breakers enable excellent machining of aluminium and non-ferrous metals such as brass, copper, bronze, etc.
Thanks to these geometric properties, particularly good surface results can be achieved. The highly positive geometry reduces the formation of a so-called built-up edge when machining aluminium. Very good results can also be achieved when machining both cast iron and plastics.

This cutting insert is made of sintered carbide. In contrast to HSS tools, the high temperature resistance of carbide allows higher cutting speeds. In addition, this insert is titanium nitride-coated, which contributes to greater heat resistance and tool life. TiN-coated inserts are intended for universal use. This means that soft materials can be machined in the same way as hard materials.
The advantages and properties of the titanium-aluminium-nitrogen coating (TiAlN coating):
The TiAlN coating is an all-round coating that is suitable for universal use. It allows the machining of hard materials such as steel, stainless steel or titanium alloys. Another advantage of this insert is that the use of cooling lubricant is not absolutely necessary. However, the use of coolant generally increases the service life of the insert.
