Centre-finding tool for round stock

This centre finder enables the centre point on the end faces of round material to be determined quickly and precisely. To do this, the V-shaped prism is positioned on the circumference of the workpiece. A line is then drawn across the end face using a pencil, marking pen or scriber, following the centrally aligned marking rail. After rotating the workpiece, a second line is marked. The point where the two lines intersect indicates the centre point. For additional verification, further lines can be marked at offset positions. This procedure corresponds to the standard operating principle used with comparable centring angles: the workpiece is aligned between or against the contact surfaces, rotated several times, and the centre point is determined from the intersecting marking lines. The 325 mm long steel marking rail can be continuously adjusted within the base unit and is locked in place by a large star-shaped locking screw. This allows the rail to be adapted to the respective workpiece and, if necessary, aligned on both sides. The base unit is made of aluminium. The black anodised finish protects the material and gives the tool a high-quality, durable finish. The centre finder is suitable for marking-out work in wood and metalworking, as well as for preparing drill holes, woodturning and other machining operations.
