Description of the
The SBM8525-V Professional is a very solidly constructed, frequency-controlled bench-type pillar drill with high concentricity. The machine runs very smoothly thanks to the balanced belt pulleys and the V-ribbed belt. The drill is driven by a powerful 3-phase motor, which is controlled by a frequency converter. The frequency converter brakes the spindle when the machine stops, which prevents the spindle from running on for a long time. The drill has two speed ranges, which can be set by changing the position of the V-ribbed belt. The spindle speed is infinitely adjustable in both speed ranges via a potentiometer and can be read on the digital speed display. The SBM8525-V Professional has a thread-cutting function that enables the direction of spindle rotation to be switched when the cutting depth is reached. The direction of rotation can be changed in two ways. Firstly, manually by pressing a push button or automatically via adjustable limit switches on the star knob. The automatic reversal of the direction of rotation enables any number of equally deep tapped holes to be produced. The machine also has an adjustable drilling depth stop. The base plate is very solid with a footprint of 305 x 325 mm and has two T-slots. Three holes are drilled in the base plate to secure the machine. The height of the ground work table is adjusted by means of a hand crank via an internal trapezoidal spindle. The table can be clamped at the set height using a tommy screw. It has two clamping grooves, can be rotated 360° around the column and can be swivelled by +/- 45°.
