Intended use
Indexable inserts are used in machining and are mounted on the turning tools or milling cutters intended for this purpose. Depending on the intended use or the material to be machined, inserts are available in various shapes and with special coatings. For example, there are special inserts for machining aluminium or non-ferrous metals. The inserts are standardised and can be identified by the respective standard designation. Description of the
The TiAlN coating is an all-round coating that is suitable for universal use. It allows the machining of hard materials such as steel, stainless steel or titanium alloys. Another advantage of this insert is that the use of cooling lubricant is not absolutely necessary. However, the use of coolant generally increases the service life of the insert.
