Description of the

This boring bar set is designed for internal machining on lathes and is suitable for boring out holes, sleeves, bushings and cylindrical internal contours. The three boring bars included, with diameters of 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm, provide a practical selection for a variety of machining tasks. The boring bars feature a flattened surface on both the top and bottom. This allows them to be clamped directly into a suitable tool holder. No additional boring bar holder is required for clamping. This simplifies handling and enables a compact tool mounting on the lathe. The minimum bore diameters are 10 mm for the 6 mm boring bar, 10 mm for the 8 mm boring bar and 12 mm for the 10 mm boring bar. This allows the set to be used specifically for different internal machining operations and bore sizes. A TCMT090204 cutting insert is fitted to each of the 6 mm and 8 mm drill rods. The 10 mm drill rod is fitted with a TCMT110204 cutting insert. The drill rods are marked with a scale to aid alignment and positioning. This helps the user align the boring bar and makes working with different overhang lengths or machining depths easier. The set is suitable for typical boring applications in the workshop, metalworking, model making and repair work. It can be used for reworking existing bores, enlarging internal contours or machining small to medium-sized internal surfaces. The set also includes two Torx keys, which can be used to change or retighten the cutting inserts. The set is shipped in an aluminium case for safe and organised storage. This ensures that the boring bars, wrenches and accessories remain neatly stowed away and are quickly to hand when needed.
