Intended use
Fixed steady rests are used to prevent long, thin workpieces from bending during machining on the lathe. Fixed steady rests are also the method of choice when long workpieces have to be machined on the face side.

The setting of the support jaws can be fixed using a hexagon nut for each jaw. Workpieces with a diameter of up to 55 mm can be machined with this steady rest.

Jetzt habe ich mir das letzte "grosse Teil" für meine PM190 bestellt und wieder rasend schnell erhalten. Nach erstem Test bin ich beeindruckt, das doch eine erstaunliche Verbesserung der Vibrationen bei langen Teilen (im Rahmen der Maschine) erreicht wird und damit die Oberflächengüte deutlich verbessert wird. Das macht also wirklich Sinn auch für kleine Maschinchen.
