Intended use

The drill rod set is suitable for internal machining on lathes, in particular for boring out holes, sleeves, bushings and cylindrical internal contours. Thanks to the three boring bars included, with shank diameters of 10, 12 and 16 mm, the set can be used for a range of bore diameters and for more stable boring operations. The boring bars are designed for minimum bore diameters of 12, 13 and 16 mm and are therefore suitable for small to medium-sized internal machining operations in workshops, metalworking, model-making and mechanical engineering.

Description of the

This boring bar set is designed for internal machining on lathes and is suitable for boring out holes, sleeves, bushings and cylindrical internal contours. The set includes three boring bars with shank diameters of 10 mm, 12 mm and 16 mm. It therefore offers a graduated selection of tools for different bore diameters and boring operations.

The minimum bore diameters are 12 mm for the 10 mm boring bar, 13 mm for the 12 mm boring bar and 16 mm for the 16 mm boring bar. This allows the set to be used specifically for various internal machining operations – from reworking existing bores to boring out sleeves, bushings and internal contours.

Each of the three drill rods is fitted with a TCMT110204 indexable insert. The indexable inserts ensure clean machining and can be changed or replaced as required. The kit includes a Torx key for loosening, retightening, or replacing the inserts. The boring bars feature flattened clamping surfaces on both the top and bottom, enabling direct clamping in a compatible tool holder. No additional drill rod holder is required for clamping. This simplifies handling and ensures a compact tool mounting on the lathe. The drill rods are marked with a scale to aid alignment and positioning. This assists the user in aligning the boring bar and makes working with different overhang lengths or machining depths easier. The set is suitable for typical boring work in the workshop, metalworking, model making and repair work. The boring bar set is shipped in an aluminium case for safe, organised storage, ensuring that the boring bars, wrenches and accessories remain neatly stowed and are quickly to hand when needed.
