Drilling/milling machine SIEG SX2L with brushless motor and tiltable Z-column

The SIEG SX2L is a compact, robust 230-volt drilling/milling machine with variable speed control. It is driven by a powerful, brushless DC motor with an output power of 500 watts. Power is transmitted quietly via a toothed belt, even at high speeds. The dynamic control ensures high torque even at low speeds. The entire speed range from 100 to 2,500 rpm is covered by one belt position; it is not necessary to change the drive belt. During drilling operations, the quill stroke is controlled via the feed lever, while the machine has an activatable fine feed for precise infeed in the Z-axis during milling. Thanks to the ± 45° tiltable Z-column, both milling and drilling can be carried out at the machining angle set via an angle scale. The adjustable depth stop on the Z-column allows milling and drilling work to be carried out with repeat accuracy. All guides can be adjusted backlash-free using pressure bars. The emergency stop button, the operating and fault light and the speed controller are located on the front of the control unit. The on/off switch is located on the side. The SX2L can be retrofitted with a feed motor and / or a digital speed display as optional accessories.

The SIEG SX1P is a compact, robust 230-volt drilling/milling machine with variable speed control. It is driven by a brushless DC motor with an output power of 250 watts. Power is transmitted quietly via a toothed belt, even at high speeds. The dynamic control ensures high torque even at low speeds. The entire speed range from 100 to 5,000 rpm is covered by one belt position; it is not necessary to change the drive belt. During drilling operations, the quill stroke is controlled via the feed lever, while the machine has an activatable fine feed for precise infeed in the X-axis during milling. In relation to its size, the SX1P has large travel ranges in the X and Y axes. All guides can be adjusted backlash-free using pressure bars. The speed display, the emergency stop button, the switch for clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation and the speed controller are located on the front of the milling head.
The on/off switch is located on the side.

The SIEG SX2.7L drilling/milling machine offers a wide range of applications. The machine is driven by a brushless DC motor with dynamic control. This control system ensures a high torque at all speeds. The entire speed range is covered by a single belt position, i.e. there is no need to reposition the belt. The toothed belt ensures a slip-free drive. The spindle speed is infinitely variable from 100 to 2,000 rpm. The machine has a "thread-cutting function", which enables the direction of rotation of the spindle to be changed immediately at the touch of a button. The milling head (Z-axis) is moved by handwheel. The machine also has a fine feed, which can only be used to move the quill in the Z direction. For drilling work, the quill is fed via the star grip on the side. The travel of the quill can be read on the digital drilling depth display. The work spindle has a user-friendly SK30 tool holder. The dovetail guides on the X, Y and Z axes can be adjusted backlash-free using wedge strips. The 700 x 160 mm worktable has three T-slots (12 mm / M10) for clamping workpieces or clamping devices. The worktable is adjusted in the X and Y axes using handwheels with vernier.

This milling machine is supplied with a glass scale measuring system already installed. In addition to the versatile functions of a measuring system, this is used to display the actual position of a workpiece or tool in a coordinate system. The display and control unit is equipped with a 7 inch (18 cm) LCD screen and various function keys. The screen is attached to the Z-column of the milling machine via a swivelling arm. There is also a practical tool tray underneath the display unit. The X, Y and Z axes of the machine are equipped with glass scales. The fourth axis of the measuring system can be used for optional accessories, such as a rotary table. The measuring system is characterised by very extensive functions and display options. Selected functions are shown graphically on the display for better understanding. The position display offers the option of choosing between turning, milling and grinding mode. The languages available are German, English, Spanish, French and Chinese.

• Inclined contour / surface: Milling of phases or diagonal surfaces
• Setting any number of holes at an even distance on a straight line (SHL function)
• Milling a radius or circular arc
• Representation of a bolt hole circle for evenly spaced holes on a circular arc
• Determining the centre point between two points

• The following functions are available in turning mode:
• Taper turning
• Tool compensation
• The traverse path in the X-axis can be displayed either in diameter or in radius.
• It is possible to display Z and Z0 combined, i.e. the travel of the bed slide and the travel of the top slide are displayed as a total.

The values can be displayed in mm or inches in all operating modes. It is possible to change the sign when displaying the individual axes. The position indicator has a standby mode. The display brightness, date, time and acoustic signals can be set. A calculator function with memory is also available.

The SIEG X2P is a 230-volt drilling/milling machine with a speed range of 100 to 2,500 rpm. It is driven by a 350 watt brush motor. Power is transmitted via a 2-stage gearbox. A gear lever is used to select between the high and low speed ranges. The speed can be continuously adjusted within both speed ranges. Thanks to the reduction ratio in the gearbox, the X2P also has sufficient torque in the low speed range. No quill is installed in the X2P. The feed in the Z direction is achieved by moving the milling head via quick adjustment with star knob or via the activatable fine feed. The adjustable depth stop on the Z-column allows milling and drilling work to be carried out with repeat accuracy. In relation to its size, the X2P has large travel ranges in the X and Y axes. All guides can be adjusted backlash-free using pressure bars. The speed controller, the operating light and the micro-fuse holder are located on the front of the operating unit. The emergency stop button and the fault light are located on the left-hand side of the control unit.
