Intended use
An edge finder is used to approach reference surfaces or edges. This means that the work spindle of a milling machine can be precisely aligned with the edge of a workpiece using an edge finder.
Edge finders are available in different versions. They are divided into mechanical edge finders, edge finders with acoustic signalling and edge finders with optical signalling. Versions with combined signalling (acoustic and optical) are also common.

This mechanical edge finder consists of two offset cylinders that are connected internally by a spring. It has a remote probe head with a diameter of 4 and 10 mm, the clamping shaft has a diameter of 10 mm. The surface is hardened and ground, the accuracy is 0.01 mm. The edge finder is supplied in a plastic box for practical and appropriate storage.
To ensure optimum use, the preservative grease must be completely removed before use.

It has a remote probe head with a diameter of 4 and 10 mm, the clamping shaft has a diameter of 10 mm. The surface is hardened and ground, the accuracy is 0.01 mm. To prevent metal chips from sticking, the side on which the probes are located is anti-magnetic. The edge finder is supplied in a plastic box for practical and appropriate storage. To ensure optimum use, the preservative grease must be completely removed before use.
This set consists of five mechanical edge finders, which consist of two or three partially offset cylinders that are connected internally by a spring. The set contains different edge finders for a wide range of applications, such as approaching an outer contour or determining the centre point of a bore. The surfaces are hardened and ground, the accuracy is 0.01 mm. The edge finders are supplied in a wooden case for practical and appropriate storage. To ensure optimum use, the preservative grease must be completely removed before use.
This battery-operated edge finder emits an acoustic and visual signal as soon as the probe head touches the reference edge to be approached. With this type of edge finder, finding the position is clearer and easier than when using mechanical edge finders. Another advantage of optical or acoustic edge finders is that the machine's work spindle does not have to be switched on during the measuring process. The optical and acoustic signalling works for all conductive and even slightly conductive material surfaces. The edge finder has a probe head with a diameter of 10 mm, which is connected to the inside of the clamping shaft via a spring. The clamping shaft has a diameter of 16 mm. The surface is hardened and ground, the accuracy is 0.01 mm. The edge finder is supplied in a wooden box for practical and appropriate storage. To ensure optimum use, the preservative grease must be completely removed before use.
