The set consists of an end mill and 20 matching indexable inserts. The milling cutter itself is nickel-coated. This nickel coating provides excellent corrosion protection. Nickel is resistant to air, water, diluted acids, lubricants and most alkalis. Another feature of nickel surfaces is the visual enhancement of the milling cutter.
The advantages and properties of the aluminium-titanium-nitride coating (AlTiN coating): Aluminium-titanium-nitride (AlTiN) is a compound of aluminium, titanium and nitrogen; it is an all-round coating that is suitable for universal use. The AlTiN coating allows hard materials such as steel or stainless steel to be machined, as well as materials such as brass, bronze or plastic. Another advantage over uncoated tools or tools with a TiN coating is that the use of cooling lubricant is not absolutely necessary, although the use of coolant generally increases the service life of the tap. In general, however, the use of coolant increases the service life of the milling cutter.
