Intended use
Fixed steady rests are used to prevent long, thin workpieces from bending during machining on the lathe. Fixed steady rests are also the method of choice when long workpieces have to be machined on the face side.

Description of the
This cast-iron steady rest is attached to the prism bed of the PM3800 using a clamping block. The three support jaws with brass tips are infinitely adjustable using star screws and enable easy positioning on the workpiece. The setting of the support jaws can be fixed using a locking screw for each jaw. The steady rest can be opened for easy adjustment and handling. Workpieces with a diameter of up to 40 mm can be machined.
