Intended use

Forstner bits can be used to produce clean, dimensionally accurate holes. Forstner bits are used, among other things, in woodworking – for example, to create blind holes – and very frequently in furniture making to drill mounting holes for cup hinges. Knotty holes can also be drilled out easily and precisely using this type of bit.
