Intended use
A height support, also known as a milling support, is used on lathes. It is mounted on the cross slide in place of the top slide. With the aid of a height support, it is possible to carry out minor milling operations on a lathe. To do this, the milling cutter is mounted in the lathe chuck or collet chuck, whilst the workpiece to be machined is clamped in the milling support.

Description of the
This solid steel height support is suitable for the SIEG SC6 lathe. The milling support can be attached to the cross slide via the mounting holes on the base using two hexagon socket screws. The height of the slide of the height support can be adjusted by up to 90 mm using a handwheel. The travel distance can be read off or set using the vernier. The carriage can be clamped in the set position using a tommy screw. This height support is swivelling and can be adjusted by ± 50° in angle. The dovetail guide of the height support can be adjusted backlash-free via a pressure bar.
