Intended use
A reamer is used for fine machining of bores. The holes, which should usually be drilled 0.1 to 0.2 mm below the nominal dimension, can be reamed to the final dimension using a reamer. In the vast majority of cases, reamers are used to ream holes for dowel pins. By machining the bore, a high degree of shape and dimensional accuracy as well as a high surface quality of the finished reamed bore are achieved.
