Description of the
This thread repair set for thread sizes M5, M6, M8, M10 and M12 contains an HSS core drill for drilling out the defective thread, an HSS tap for holding threads, an insertion tool, a tang breaker and a large number of stainless steel thread inserts for the respective thread size. This repair kit is supplied in a practical wooden storage box with a foam insert.
Brief instructions for use (using the example of a defective M8 thread):
- Drill out the damaged thread with the twist drill from the M8 repair set.
- Use the thread cutter from the M8 repair set to cut the holding thread for the M8 thread insert.
- Screw the M8 thread insert into the cut thread using the insertion tool from the M8 repair set.
- Remove the tang from the thread insert using the tang breaker.
