Digital protractors
A digital protractor can be used to measure gradients and angles. Some digital protractors have a magnet on the housing so that the protractor can be quickly and easily attached to any metal surface. Other advantages include the ability to switch between absolute and relative measurement and to vary the display between degrees, per cent, mm/m and in/ft. Digital protractors are also available with an inclinometer and integrated spirit level.

Application example: Aligning the milling head
After adjusting the milling head, it should be correctly aligned again, otherwise the milling tools may be damaged. In addition, an incorrect milling head position can lead to an imprecise milling result. To ensure that the milling head is correctly aligned, you can use a digital protractor. As soon as the work spindle is aligned perpendicular to the table, the digital display of the protractor shows either 0° or 90° - this depends on the operator.
