Intended use

Description of the
This high-quality sharpening device enables the precise grinding and honing of chisels as well as flat and slightly tapered planer blades. The solid base holds the whetstone and, together with the guided grinding unit, forms a stable sharpening system for regular workshop use. The tool to be sharpened is securely clamped in the clamping bar using two knurled brass screws. Integrated parallel alignment lines help to ensure that chisels or plane blades are clamped at right angles to the grinding direction. This ensures a straight and evenly ground cutting edge. The grinding head can be adjusted within an angle range of 10 to 60° and locked into the desired position. Alternatively, the angle adjustment can be left open to accommodate the existing bevel of the clamped tool and to follow it during sharpening. The sharpening unit moves on a linear guide with a stainless steel guide rail. Micro ball bearings in the bearing housing ensure smooth running with minimal lateral play. This guides the tool in a controlled manner in the longitudinal direction across the grinding stone. The grinding stone is positioned on the base plate and secured using the adjustable stop. This device is designed for grinding stones with a length of 163 to 218 mm and a width of up to 80 mm. This allows different water-, oil- or diamond-coated grinding stones within the specified dimensional range to be used. The black anodised aluminium base and the solid brass components give the device a sturdy and high-quality finish. Four brass feet with non-slip pads ensure a secure footing and prevent the device from slipping during the grinding process.
