Intended use
Clamping jaws are an essential component of a lathe chuck. Centrally adjustable lathe chucks are usually fitted with one set of inner (drilling) jaws and one set of outer (turning) jaws. Depending on the application, either of the two types of jaws can be used on the lathe chuck. Outer jaws are tapered inwards towards the centre of the chuck and are particularly suitable for clamping workpieces with larger diameters.
