Intended use
Clamping jaws are an essential component of a lathe chuck. Centrally adjustable lathe chucks are usually fitted with one set of internal (drilling) jaws and one set of external (turning) jaws. Depending on the application, either of the two jaw types can be used on the lathe chuck.
Outer jaws are tapered inwards towards the centre of the chuck and are particularly suitable for clamping workpieces with larger diameters.
