Exactly, I've been with the company since August 2017 and work in the Technical Sales and Customer Support team. My exact job title is technical salesperson and together with my colleagues Timo, Michael, Jannis and Wolfgang and my team leader Frank, I make up this team.

Quite a few! My work is very varied and every day brings new, interesting challenges that need to be mastered. One of my tasks is to advise customers on the phone and by e-mail. Potential customers often have technical questions about our products before they make a purchase, which I can answer and help them with their purchasing decision. Even after the purchase, I assist customers with questions about the operation of our machines and tools or recommend suitable accessories. I also process complaints and order spare parts, which means I am a direct point of contact for our customers for all technical questions. A second major part of my work at paulimot is advising and selling in our specialist shop in Neu-Ulm. We display our entire range here and customers can view all the products and take them home with them if required. They also receive personalised advice and have a direct contact person on site.

That's right, I work with paulimot products every day. My favourite products from our very large range are the quick-change steel holders. They are used on a lathe to clamp different tools, such as turning tools or boring bars, for a quick change. This makes work on the lathe much easier. Our quick-change steel holders are universal accessories. This means that every customer enquiry is different and every case must be considered differently. In 90% of cases, a small adjustment has to be made to the customer's machine. Together with the customer, I find a solution for every machine and can thus contribute to customer satisfaction. I particularly enjoy this challenge.

Yes, I still remember one particular conversation with a customer very fondly. A customer called me, he had a problem with his lathe and we found a solution together. Once the technical aspects had been clarified, he thanked me in an unusually friendly manner for my help and wished me all the best and good luck for my professional and personal life. I hadn't expected this kindness at that moment, as I was "only" doing my job. Nevertheless, he seemed to perceive our customer service as exceptional. This has left a strong impression on me and confirms the way I interpret my work at paulimot.

Of course, it is particularly important to have very good technical knowledge in the field of metalworking and machining. We work with so many different products every day and need a broad basic knowledge. But technical expertise alone is not enough. It is equally important to have social skills such as empathy and a flair for dealing with customers. Every customer and every dialogue situation is different and we try to respond to each individual competently. Sometimes we also advise customers from abroad, which is why it is helpful to have a basic knowledge of English. To summarise, it can be said that contact with customers is at the centre of our work
