When purchasing a milling machine, the question often arises as to which machine is best suited and what you should look out for when buying. Here you will find an overview of our range of milling machines. We present our various models in more detail and help you to find out which paulimot milling machine is suitable for your projects.

Milling machines of the brand "paulimot made by SIEG"

Small models

Our three small models in this series (X2P, SX2L, SX1P) can be used for hobby modelling as well as for machining small to medium-sized workpieces and for finer milling work. They can mainly be used to machine plastics and non-ferrous metals, but can also be used to work with steel with a small cutting depth. The machines do not have a quill; the feed in the Z direction is achieved by moving the milling head. Fine adjustment is also possible on the machines.

Model X2P

The X2P milling machine is one of our entry-level models and has an output power (P2) of 350 watts. The machine is driven by a brush motor and a 2-stage gearbox. The speed is infinitely variable and ranges from 100 to 2,500 revolutions per minute in clockwise rotation. The machine has two speed ranges (slow and fast), which can be selected via a lever. This reduction ensures a high torque at the working spindle even in the low speed range. The slow speed range of this milling machine extends up to 1,100 revolutions per minute, while the fast speed range extends up to 2,500 revolutions per minute. An MK3 tool holder is installed on the X2P. The machine has an adjustable depth stop for reproducible series drilling and the guides can be set and readjusted using pressure bars.

Model SX2L

Our SX2L milling machine has an output power (P2) of 500 watts and, unlike the X2P, is driven by a brushless DC motor with dynamic control. This means that the machine automatically adjusts under load in order to maintain the specified speed. It has a very smooth-running belt drive. The speed is infinitely variable in clockwise rotation from 100 to 2,500 revolutions per minute. The entire speed range is mapped via a belt position - this means that it is not necessary to change the belt. An MK3 tool holder is installed on this model and the Z-column can be tilted up to 45°. A special feature of this milling machine is its high torque, even in the low speed range. It also has an adjustable depth stop for reproducible series drilling and can be seen as the big sister of the X2P in terms of control and motor. The guides can be set and readjusted using pressure bars.

Model SX1P

Like the SX2L, the SX1P milling machine has a brushless DC motor with dynamic control and an output power (P2) of 250 watts. The speed is infinitely variable in the range from 100 to 5,000 revolutions per minute for clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation. This allows you to work at relatively high speeds. The SX1P has a belt drive and is therefore very quiet. The entire speed range of this milling machine is also mapped via a single belt position - it is not necessary to change the belt. The milling machine has an MK2 tool holder. The Z-column of the machine can be adjusted by handwheel and the guides can be set or readjusted using pressure bars.

Model SX2.7L

The SIEG SX2.7 L has an output power (P2) of 750 watts and is driven by a brushless DC motor with dynamic control. It has a very smooth-running belt drive. The speed is infinitely variable from 100 to 2,000 rpm. The SX2.7L also has a high torque in the lower speed ranges. The milling machine does not require the drive belt to be repositioned, as the entire speed range is mapped via one belt position. The machine has an SK30 tool holder and the quill stroke is performed via the star grip. The SX2.7L also has a fine adjustment. This allows exact values to be set for very fine and precise work. The special feature of this milling machine is its thread-cutting function. The SX2.7L has a 700 x 160 mm table and the guides can be adjusted backlash-free via wedge strips. The SX2.7L is available in our online shop with and without a measuring system.

Large milling machines from "paulimot made by SIEG"

Our two larger milling machines (SX3L and SX4) from the "paulimot made by SIEG" series are also suitable for larger and extensive milling work and are used in functional modelling, among other things. You can also machine steel with these milling machines without any problems. Both models are driven by a brushless DC motor and a dynamic control system. Fine adjustment is also possible with these milling machines. Both machines have an SK30 tool holder and feature a tapping function that can be activated at the touch of a button and operated using any lever on the star grip. The quill stroke can be read on the machines via a digital display. Both models are available with or without a measuring system.

Model SX3L

The SX3L milling machine is the smaller of the two models and has an output power (P2) of 1,000 watts. The speed is infinitely variable in the range from 100 to 1,750 revolutions per minute in clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation. It also has a high torque even in the low speed range. A brushless DC motor is installed in the machine. Thanks to the belt drive, this model runs very quietly. There is no need to change the drive belt on the milling machine, as the entire speed range is covered by one belt position. The milling head can also be swivelled. A particular advantage of this model is the handwheel for the Z-column, which is attached to the front of the machine at working height and thus ensures easy operation. The guides can be adjusted using wedge and pressure bars.

Model SX3.5Z

The SX3.5Z milling machine forms the link between the SX3L and SX4 models. It is used in the high-end hobby and semi-professional sector. The SX3.5Z has an output power (P2) of 1,000 watts. The spindle speed is infinitely variable in both speed ranges. In the low speed range(80 - 1,500 rpm), the machine is driven by a toothed belt, while in the high speed range(280 - 5,000 rpm) the machine is driven by V-ribbed belts. The SX3.5Z runs very smoothly and quietly due to the flexibility of the V-ribbed belts. The milling head can be adjusted at the touch of a button. A major advantage of the machine is the electric drive of the Z-axis, which is powered by a separate electric motor.

Model SX4

The SX4 milling machine is the largest model in our range and is also frequently used in the commercial sector. The output power (P2) of the SX4 is 1,500 watts. It has an infinitely variable speed in clockwise rotation in the range from 100 to 1,600 revolutions per minute. This machine also has a high torque in the low speed range. It is driven by a brushless DC motor and runs extremely quietly thanks to the belt drive. The milling head can be swivelled and electrically adjusted in the Z direction. The tilt angle can also be displayed via a digital protractor. The SX4 is very solid and has a very large table. This model is also equipped with a work light. All guides can be adjusted by means of wedge strips.
