Intended use
Turning tools with replaceable inserts are characterised by the fact that worn cutting edges can be replaced quickly and easily. The tedious and time-consuming regrinding of the cutting edge is no longer necessary. Another advantage of turning tools with reversible or replaceable inserts is that the most suitable insert can be mounted on the holder depending on the material to be machined. For example, there are special inserts for machining aluminium or non-ferrous metals. Both the holders and the inserts are standardised and can be identified by the respective standard designation.

Description of the
This turning tool with the standard designation SCLCL2020K09 has a shank of 20 x 20 mm and an overall length of 125 mm. The cutting insert is made of sintered carbide. In contrast to HSS chisels, the high temperature resistance of carbide allows higher cutting speeds. In addition, this insert is titanium nitride-coated, which contributes to greater heat resistance and a longer service life. TiN-coated inserts are intended for universal use. For special applications, this carbide insert can be replaced by another insert that is suitable for the material to be machined. You can find these special indexable inserts in our range.
