Intended use
Position indicators are a component of digital position measuring systems. Sensors are used to detect movements or changes in position and show them on a connected display. A distinction is made between optical systems (glass scales) and magnetic systems (magnetic tape and read head). Digital position indicators can map a variety of functions via their software.

Description of the
This position indicator has a clear control panel with function keys and a 7-inch LCD screen. The display can be attached to a turning or milling machine or to a wall using optional brackets. Both glass scales and read heads for magnetic tapes can be connected to the 9-pin TTL interfaces. In the boot menu, you can choose between turning and milling mode. The languages available are German, English, Spanish, French and Chinese.
The following functions are available in turning mode:
- Taper turning
- Tool compensation
- The traverse path in the X-axis can be displayed either in diameter or radius.
- It is possible to display Z and Z0 combined, i.e. the travel of the bed slide and the travel of the top slide are displayed as a total.
The following functions are available in milling mode:
- Inclined contour / surface: Milling of phases or diagonal surfaces
- Setting any number of holes at an even distance on a straight line (SHL function)
- Milling a radius or circular arc
- Representation of a bolt hole circle for evenly spaced holes on a circular arc
- Determination of the centre point between two points
The values can be displayed in mm or inches in all operating modes. It is possible to change the sign when displaying the individual axes. A standby mode can be activated on the position display. The display brightness, date, time and acoustic signals can be set. A calculator function with memory is also available.

The position indicator can be attached to magnetic surfaces using a magnetic stand; the stand also has two mounting holes for M6 cylinder head screws.
