Description of the
The F207-V drilling/milling machine offers a wide range of applications. The machine is driven by a frequency-controlled 3-phase asynchronous three-phase motor. Thanks to its two-stage gearbox, it has two speed ranges (slow and fast), which can be adjusted using a rotary knob. The reduction ratio ensures a high torque at the work spindle even in the low speed range. The spindle speed is infinitely adjustable from 150 to 2,250 rpm. The machine has clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation. The milling head (Z-axis) is moved by handwheel. The machine also has a fine feed, which can only be used to move the quill in the Z direction. For drilling work, the quill is fed via the star grip on the side. The travel of the quill can be read on the digital drilling depth display. The work spindle has an MK2 tool holder. The dovetail guides on the X, Y and Z axes can be adjusted backlash-free by means of wedge strips. The 700 x 180 mm worktable has three T-slots (12 mm / M10) for clamping workpieces or clamping devices. The worktable is adjusted in the X and Y axes using handwheels with vernier. The cross table of the F207-V is equipped with recirculating ball screws for backlash-free and precise movement.
With the ball screw, also known as a ball screw drive, balls inserted into the spindle nut transmit the force between the spindle and nut. As the spindle rotates, these balls move axially in the grooves between the nut and spindle. The balls are returned through channels in the spindle nut, creating a circuit in which the balls circulate around the spindle.
- The advantages of a recirculating ball screw:
- Significantly lower friction (rolling friction) compared to conventional trapezoidal spindles (sliding friction)
- Less wear, therefore longer service life
- Significantly higher accuracy and freedom from backlash compared to normal lead screws such as trapezoidal spindles
- Higher travel speeds possible
This milling machine is supplied with a glass scale measuring system already installed. In addition to the versatile functions of a measuring system, this serves to display the actual position of a workpiece or tool in a coordinate system. The display and control unit is equipped with a 7 inch (18 cm) LCD screen and various function keys. The screen is attached to the Z-column of the milling machine via a swivelling arm. There is also a practical tool tray underneath the display unit. The X, Y and Z axes of the machine are equipped with glass scales. The fourth axis of the measuring system can be used for optional accessories, such as a rotary table.
The measuring system is characterised by very extensive functions and display options. Selected functions are shown graphically on the display for better understanding. The position display offers the option of choosing between turning, milling and grinding mode. The languages available are German, English, Spanish, French and Chinese.
- The following functions are available in milling mode:
