Parallel underlays
Parallel supports are used as workpiece clamping aids during milling. They can be used in conjunction with a machine vice to adjust the height of the workpiece in the vice and also as a support when clamping directly on the worktable. This prevents damage to the machine table when machining the workpiece.

Working with parallel underlays

Please note the following points when selecting the right parallel underlay:
- What is to be processed (workpiece)? How large is the workpiece?
- How big is the vice?
- What is the desired machining height?
- How far should the workpiece protrude beyond the vice?
Use the following rule of thumb when clamping the workpiece with parallel supports: As high as necessary, but as low as possible.
