Milwaukee ’s cobalt metal drill bits are manufactured from solid, high-heat-resistant cobalt-alloyed steel with 5% cobalt and are precision-ground to DIN 338. The polished surface reduces friction and ensures smooth drilling performance in demanding applications. The drill bits are specifically designed for drilling in high-alloy steel and metal with a tensile strength of up to 1000 N/mm², including stainless steel and acid- and heat-resistant steels. The QUAD EDGE drill tip combines a 135° cross-ground design with four cutting edges. The cross-cut design enables precise centring without centre punching, whilst the four cutting edges produce smaller chips. This improves chip evacuation, reduces thermal stress on the cutting edges and ensures a longer service life. A variable spiral geometry supports rapid chip evacuation and contributes to reduced heat build-up. The reinforced, tapered drill core, which thickens towards the shank, increases the drill’s stability and extends the life of the spiral, even under high loads. From a diameter of Ø 5 mm, the drills feature a 3-fluted shank, which ensures a better grip in the drill chuck and prevents slipping. The bronze-coloured finish indicates the cobalt-alloyed material. The drill bits are supplied in a robust, PACKOUT-compatible box that integrates seamlessly into the Milwaukee PACKOUT storage system, ensuring safe transport and organised storage.
