Intended use
A steel holder is always used together with the matching base body of a quick-change steel holder system. The prism version of the steel holder is designed for round turning steel (or boring bars). To utilise the advantages of the system, the boring bar is clamped in the steel holder and aligned to the desired height. After reinserting the steel holder, the inserted boring bar is immediately at the previously set height. This eliminates the time-consuming alignment of the boring bar to the centre of the spindle.
