Exactly, as an e-commerce specialist at paulimot I work at the interface between technology and online sales. In this role, I am responsible for several areas. One very important task is adding new products to our online shop and our online marketplaces. To do this, I receive a description of the new product from our technicians and then I start by creating images and, if necessary, drawings of it in order to present it to potential customers in the best possible way. In the next step, I enter all the important product data into our PIM system. For our online shop, I also link the new product with other items that are either similar to it or can be assigned as accessories. This makes it easier for our customers to find matching products in the online shop. As soon as the new item is online in our online shop at www.paulimot.de, it's time to publish it on the online marketplaces we use, such as Amazon, Ebay, Kaufland and Idealo. As well as presenting new products, I also make sure that the data for existing products is always up to date. Another task I am responsible for at paulimot is maintaining our bargain corner, where we offer remaining stock, discontinued models, customer returns and similar items at very favourable prices. Finally, I am constantly working on improving the online presentation of our products and making the shopping experience a little more pleasant for our customers bit by bit. One example of this: One major project I completed was to visualise our product drawings in three dimensions using CAD software. This allows us to visualise many items, such as our indexable inserts, much better and make details such as the cutting edge radius recognisable to our customers at first glance.

When I started at paulimot, all employees worked under one roof. In the meantime, the company has grown so much that the e-commerce and marketing team (including myself) has moved to a neighbouring building. This physical separation makes it all the more important to have fixed appointments with the contact persons from other teams in order to move things forward together. Despite the physical separation, collaboration works very well and colleagues from the Technology team deliberately take time for cross-team projects. I find it very pleasant that collaboration at paulimot is always on an equal footing, which creates a very pleasant working atmosphere.

My favourite product is our cross table with a table size of 225 x 175 mm . This item is so special to me because it was the first product that I oversaw the entire process of adding to the online shop. In particular, the creation of the drawing and the comparison table were very time-consuming compared to other products and I was able to familiarise myself with these topics in more detail with the help of the cross table.

It was a happy coincidence. I came across the advert online, found the job profile very interesting and then applied for it. And I did so as someone from outside the industry, as I originally came from a completely different field and had never had any previous contact with the e-commerce sector: I had previously worked in work preparation in special machine construction and took care of all the steps from checking a drawing to setting up the assembly at the customer's site. Before this job, I had trained as an office administrator, during which I was prepared for technical topics such as reading drawings and learnt the basics of measuring, turning and milling in addition to typical commercial activities. This benefits me greatly in my work at paulimot today: I have a basic understanding of the technical background to our products, which makes it easier for me to understand the interrelationships. I'm always learning new things in my day-to-day work. I particularly like the fact that I receive direct feedback from customers.
