Carbide tipped turning tool sets
Compared to conventional tool steel, carbide has a higher temperature resistance and therefore enables up to three times higher cutting speeds. The cutting edges of carbide-tipped turning tools are harder than pure metals, alloys and hardened steel, but are more susceptible to breakage. In addition, worn cutting edges need to be reground.
