Intended use
This double-sided wet whetstone is suitable for sharpening and finishing straight cutting edges on chisels, plane blades, knives and similar tools. The 600/1,500 grit combination is designed for a controlled initial grind followed by a finer finishing grind.

Description of the
This combination wet whetstone combines two complementary grits in a single stone. The 600-grit side is suitable for sharpening blunt cutting edges and for removing minor signs of wear. Compared to a coarser 400-grit stone, it removes material more gently and in a more controlled manner. The finer side, with a 1,500 grit, is then used to smooth and refine the pre-ground cutting edge. It reduces the grinding marks left by the coarser side and ensures a more even, finely ground cutting edge. The whetstone is used with water and should be thoroughly soaked before use. The surface must be kept damp whilst sharpening. The rubber base supplied fits the stone snugly, ensures a non-slip grip and prevents direct contact with the work surface. Measuring 180 × 60 × 28 mm, the stone offers a generous sharpening surface for the controlled sharpening of various tool and knife edges.
