Das paulimot Kundenprojekt 2024!

The idea for the project
One of Marcus' long-cherished dreams was to have a professionally equipped workshop where he could access all the tools and materials he needed whenever spontaneous ideas came to mind. His first kart project was completed in 2003. 19 years later, he decided to pick up the theme again. Starting with a drift trike and then a minibike, the latest project was a trike. Another project that is already in the starting blocks will be a minibike with upside-down forks and a Wankel engine. The shell for this has already been completed and many more projects are planned. Marcus told us that he really enjoys building things himself instead of "wasting" his time on the couch. Ultimately, however, he enjoys building more than using.
You learn so much with every project. I can recommend it to anyone!
The project realisation
The project began with the design in a CAD programme. Once all the dimensions had been determined, Marcus bent the seamless 25 mm tubes according to the drawing using the bending machine and notched the ends using the paulimot SX4 drilling/milling machine and a hole saw. After tacking, the frame was welded using the TIG process and everything was then assembled and put into operation. The trike worked perfectly the first time it touched the ground. However, the deliberate design made a wheelie bar necessary in order to be able to ride in a relaxed manner and with a certain degree of safety.

How has paulimot helped you and how have the articles from paulimot helped you?
I particularly like being able to obtain everything from a single source. I use the machines in a variety of ways in every project - from turned parts such as axles or spacer sleeves to milled grooves in the axles. In the last project, the pitch circle function of the SX4 was a real gain in freedom, as adapters had to be produced for the US rims used in order to be able to mount them on the European wheel spiders. Starting with the raw turned part on the paulimot lathe PM4000, I used the pitch circle function on the paulimot drilling/milling machine SX4 to precisely set the bolt circles.

The paulimot project workshop
We have the tools and you have the ideas!
On the following page you will find projects that our customers have made available to us. The spectrum ranges from modelling projects to steam engines and the conversion and restoration of machines. Let us inspire you! Perhaps you would like to build one or two of these yourself? Step-by-step instructions and the tools used are usually listed with each project. You can also use our project workshop to network and exchange ideas with the paulimot community.
