Steady rests
To prevent long and slender workpieces from bending during machining on the lathe, steady rests (also known as steady rests) are often used to provide additional support for the workpiece. Steady rests are only suitable for cylindrical workpieces with a high surface quality. The workpiece is secured in the steady rest by support jaws or rollers, whereby the support jaws or rollers can be individually adjusted in order to centre, support and guide the material in the best possible way.
